With more than two decades as a general contractor in the East Bay, we weren’t exactly surprised by the numbers. We know that some projects will return a higher value depending on neighborhood, value of a house, and the quality of a remodel. (Putting a $100,000 kitchen into a $300,000 house isn’t likely to pay off.)
